IPL fans are yet to see high-scoring matches this season. There have been only a few matches where fans enjoyed the show of runs. Other than that, plenty of matches till now were low scoring but exciting.
More importantly, matches played at the Chepauk Stadium at Chennai have witnessed several ups and downs.
Teams playing at this venue have many times lost the match while being in a winning position.
This can be easily understood by looking at the condition of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In the yesterday’s (17th April 2021) match against Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers were once again in a strong position like their previous matches.
But they again lost the match while being in a strong position at a time.
This 3rd loss in this season for SRH handed them an unwanted record of having the worst start for them since 2013.
Hyderabad needed to win against Mumbai Indians in order to register their 1st win in the IPL 2021.
It was not an easy task to defeat 5 times IPL champion. But SRH did pretty well with the ball and restricted MI to just 150 runs in 20 overs.
SRH then started well and explosive opener Jhonny Bairstow took SRH to a comfortable position where SRH’s score was 67 runs in just 7 overs.
But from here, SRH’s position deteriorated and they lost the match by 13 runs.

Worst Start in 9 Years
Like always, SRH’s middle order failed and undone all the efforts of bowlers and the openers.
They were not even able to play the full 20 overs and lost all 10 wickets while 2 balls were still remaining.
This was the 3rd straight loss for SRH this season and with this, they made an unwanted record for themselves with the worst start in any season of IPL since this team was founded in 2013.
Most Unsuccessful Stadium
Chennai MA Chidambaram Stadium has proved to be the most unfavorable stadium for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
SRH has always lost on this stadium since 2013.
Hyderabad has played 6 matches at this venue since 2013 and lost every match.
And this is not the end to SRH’s troubles as they have to play against Punjab on 21st April 2021 and against Delhi Capitals on 25th April, both at this ground.
